Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Rest/Stress test
Myocardial perfusion imaging is recognised to be the most accurate non-invasive means of detecting coronary artery disease and assessing the severity and extent of perfusion defects in patients with coronary stenosis. A scan of this type provides both anatomical and physiological information via a cost effective, low radiation risk and relatively painless procedure.
Modern software applications means analysis of the 'ECG Gated SPECT' acquired data can produce images that show ventricular endocardial and epicardial surfaces and calculation of LV Ejection fraction, EDV and ESV. Polar maps can also be displayed indicating perfusion, wall thickening, wall motion and regional ejection fraction in an easy to interpret fashion.
Gated Blood Pool Study
The resting gated blood pool study evaluates right and left regional ventricular wall motion and ejection fraction at rest.
