KIDNEY

Renal Scan (DMSA)
Uptake in functional renal parenchyma.

Indications:
  • Assess relative function of each kidney.
  • Check for renal scarring.
  • Evaluation of congenital abnormalities.
  • Recent UTI (pyelonephritis).

  • Renogram (DTPA or MAG3)
    Provides information relating to renal vascularity, renal function and excretion.

    Indications:
  • Renogram - Renal obstruction
    Differential function
    Assessment of transplant
  • Diuretic Renogram - To differentiate a dilated from an obstructed renal collecting system.
  • Captopril Renogram - diagnosis of renal artery stenosis (RAS).
